Your Only Limit is You

Quote

On my way to the checkout, I can’t help but notice the gorgeous celebrity on the cover of the magazine near me. She looks flawless and doesn’t seem to have an ounce of fat. “How can you look that perfect?” My thoughts come to a halt as the cashier says, “Next!” I sigh and then move on to the register thinking to myself, “One day…”

We all crave to be attractive and for people to like us, it’s human nature. When we see other people that have our “dream body”, it’s easy to sigh and move on with our day. If it’s not jealousy it’s insecurity; sometimes it’s a little of both.

We find within ourselves discontentment in comparing ourselves to how other people look, or what they have that we don’t. We fail to see our own value and worth, in wishing for what we don’t have. We think that just one day we’ll get there, but that day never comes. You change your habits for maybe a week or so, then you lose motivation and go back to your old ones.

Deep down inside every person that has succeeded, came to a point where they knew something had to change. They were tired of the “normal” and were ready to take on something like never before. They committed and didn’t give up. They didn’t stop when it was hard, or take a break when they weren’t motivated anymore.

The key is not giving up.

It all comes down to one incredibly true quote that takes a moment to sink in; “Your only limit is you.” Probably not what you were expecting, or maybe even not what you wanted to hear, but the truth in that statement is pretty bold. Sometimes our circumstances can keep us from where we are going, or set us back along the way. Setbacks are a part of life, but it’s what you do after the setback that really matters.

Are you ready to change the pattern that has kept you from getting where you need to be? To no longer stand in the way with doubt and fear? It seems almost silly to think that we want to accomplish something, but we are keeping ourselves from it. Whether or not anyone ever tells you, you really can do it. Don’t let limits of your own mind keep you from accomplishing your dreams.

By pursuing your dreams, you’re going to make mistakes. It may take years for you to get it right, but that doesn’t change it’s worth. The things that we strive for in life don’t come easy, they almost always come with a price. But it is always a price that is certainly worth paying.
