If you plan to host a baby shower or want to give a creative, handmade gift to a friend, the tutu basket is the perfect choice! Here’s how to make your own!
What you’ll Need:
- 1 ½ yards of tulle in your colors of choice
- Basket with openings all the way around top to allow you to pull fabric through
- Scissors
Steps:
-
- Take your first piece of tulle and fold it in half lengthwise. Begin to cut strips of about an inch, to an inch and a half starting with the folded side.

- Once you have cut all of the tulle, take one of the pieces (keeping it folded), and grab the middle. Pull it through an opening in the basket from the top of the outside and open up the loop. Pull the loose ends through the middle until secured to basket.
- If you have more than one color, begin to add each piece of tulle in the order that you prefer.

- Continue to secure tulle all the way around the top of the basket.
- If you have any tulle left over, wrap it around the handle to match the tulle on the basket. Secure ends to the bottom of the handle and cover it as you continue to wrap it around.

- Finally, cut the ends of the tulle to your desired length. Bunch up the ends in order to create a full look, and cut ends shorter to look less full.
- Take your first piece of tulle and fold it in half lengthwise. Begin to cut strips of about an inch, to an inch and a half starting with the folded side.
It’s done! Isn’t it cute?!
