The world we live in is a fast-paced, comfort based society.
We are always busy and in a hurry trying to get from one place to another. We like to get things right away, and don’t have much tolerance for patience.
Life is always speeding past us.
We are so caught up with being busy that we sometimes forget to make time to slow down and smell the flowers. To not make plans. To rest in the stillness. It’s important that we take time to reflect and rest because it enables us to see where we are, and what we need to do to move forward in our lives.
During those calm, reflecting times we can be deeply inspired and motivated. We need to get away and “recharge,” it is essential for our peace. By getting away, we open ourselves up to an opportunity to let creative ideas pour in. Regardless of personality type, we all need to make it a priority to incorporate this time into our lives often so we can evaluate our current state and refocus our priorities.
Don’t miss the beauty around you because you are too caught up being busy. So take a moment to go outside, take a deep breath, smell the crisp air, and let the wind blow through your hair.
One of the ways I’ve incorporated more peace in my life is by doing yoga. By putting on peaceful music, turning down the lights, and moving through flows, I can reflect. I mentally declutter and refocus. It’s calming and helps me lower my stress level from the day. Don’t miss the beauty around you because you are too caught up being busy. So take a moment to go outside, take a deep breath, smell the crisp air, and let the wind blow through your hair.
Life is most satisfying when you take in each moment. When you finally decide to put down your phone, you can see and feel so much more around you.
When I take pictures I want to capture the beauty of everything around me, but sometimes I just have to be in the moment and see life beyond the lens.
Think about how you are making peace a priority in your life. What do you need to do differently?
Then, go smell the flowers.
